Liver hemangioma treatment

Hemangiomas of the liver, small and asymptomatic ones do not require treatment. However, ultrasound examinations are performed every 3-6 months to dynamically observe changes. It is currently considered that those with peripheral diameter greater than 5 cm and intermediate diameter greater than 10 cm or symptomatic should be treated. Liver resection is an effective treatment for this disease. For multiple hepatic hemangiomas or those with large lesions or those that have invaded large parts of the liver tissue and cannot be removed, hepatic artery ligation with embolization can be done. Radiation intervention is currently considered by some to be effective, but is not advocated by others.
