What is the surgical management of hepatic hemangioma?

Hepatic hemangiopericytoma is a relatively common benign tumor of the liver. In the past 20 years, due to the wide application of diagnostic imaging techniques such as ultrasound, CT and MRI, the detection of hepatic hemangiomas has increased significantly, and many asymptomatic hepatic hemangiomas have been found clinically. Faced with such a large number of patients, how to choose the treatment modality is the main problem faced by surgeons. Indications for surgery for hepatic hemangioma are: 1. Patients have obvious and persistent clinical symptoms due to hepatic hemangioma; 2. Patients present with clinical complications secondary to hepatic hemangioma, such as hepatic hemangioma rupture and bleeding, severe thrombocytopenia and anemia. Therefore, the treatment of hepatic hemangioma should follow the following principles: 1. (radiofrequency ablation therapy); 5.For hepatic hemangioma that is not suitable for RFA treatment, hepatic hemangioma removal is preferred, and partial hepatectomy is feasible for those who cannot be removed; 6.For hepatic hemangioma that cannot be treated by the above methods, hepatic artery embolization (TAE) and radiation therapy can be adopted to relieve symptoms or psychological pressure; 7.For those who have serious complications and the above treatments are not effective, liver transplantation is feasible.
