21-year-old Xiao Zhang was originally a beautiful northeastern girl, but all this quietly changed three years ago. Originally slim, fresh-faced she became thick hands and feet, thick lips, dark and rough skin. This frightened Zhang’s mother, rushed to take Zhang around to seek medical help. After a series of examinations, it turned out that a 31mm*26mm*33mm tumor had grown in Xiao Zhang’s head, which happened to grow on the pituitary gland, resulting in the transitional secretion of growth hormone, which caused a series of changes in Xiao Zhang’s appearance. After looking up information online and consulting with doctors and friends, Zhang and his mother finally chose to undergo transnasal endoscopic pituitary tumor resection in our department. This minimally invasive surgery not only has a smaller wound, faster recovery and fewer complications. Compared to open surgery it also preserves a head of dark hair, which is more acceptable to patients.
