Surgical treatment of ingrown nails requires hospitalization to achieve comprehensive treatment and reduce the recurrence rate for the following reasons: 1. Ingrown nails that require surgical intervention are often combined with infection and require combined anti-infection treatment and infection prevention measures during the perioperative period, which is difficult to do in outpatient surgery; 2. Before treatment of ingrown nails, the cause needs to be clarified, such as nail or bone deformity, combined with nail fungal disease requires hospitalization for complete evaluation before surgical treatment; 3. More severe ingrown nails require combined medication after surgery, including trauma care and medication change treatment.
