Is bleeding gums associated with AIDS?

There is no obvious relationship between bleeding gums and AIDS. Bleeding gums have many causes, such as gingivitis, low platelets, clotting disorders, etc. These causes of bleeding gums often have underlying disease, whether it is leukemia, liver disease, or a problem with the gums themselves. HIV infection usually causes damage to the patient’s immune system, resulting in a declining CD4+ T-lymphocyte count and a variety of opportunistic infections due to the breakdown of the immune system. The symptoms are fever, night sweats, diarrhea, weight loss of more than 10%, persistent generalized lymph node enlargement, and opportunistic infections of various systems.
