Watery eyes are a common problem for many people and can occur in people of all ages. There are many causes of eye tearing, such as eye pathology, external environmental stimuli and eye habits. The common causes of eye tearing are eye inflammation, such as conjunctivitis, keratitis, iridocyclitis, corneal foreign body, conjunctival foreign body, conjunctival calculus, sclerenchyma, and so on. External environmental stimuli can also cause tears in the eyes, such as the common wind-driven tears, which are caused by the eye’s sensitivity to the surrounding environment and sandy stimuli, causing irritation and reflex tears. Tears can also occur in people who often stay up late, smoke and drink, and use their eyes excessively tired. Of course, there is another physiological condition that can cause tearing of the eyes, which is the reflexive tearing when there is a great emotional fluctuation, excessive happiness or excessive sadness. Traumatic lesions of the eye and foreign bodies entering the eye can also cause tearing of the eyes. In short, there are many causes of eye tearing, and no matter which cause of tearing, it will eventually act on the tear system to cause irritation or reflex tearing. It is recommended to go to the ophthalmology examination to flush the tear ducts. If the tear ducts are not working and there is sticky or yellow purulent discharge rushing out, there is a possibility of chronic dacryocystitis, which needs to be treated.
