Is a tumor a cancer?

Tumors can be divided into benign tumors and malignant tumors, among which cancer belongs to the range of malignant tumors. Cancer generally refers to malignant tumors originating from epithelial tissues, such as lung cancer, esophageal cancer, stomach cancer, breast cancer, colorectal cancer, etc. Tumors originating from blood are generally not referred to as cancer, but as tumors and diseases, such as lymphoma and leukemia. Tumors originating from mesenchymal tissues are generally called tumors, such as sarcoma, hemangioma, brain tumor, etc. In general, malignant tumors grow more rapidly, are infiltrative, have unclear borders with surrounding tissues, and are prone to adhesions. Benign tumors grow slower, have clear boundaries with surrounding tissues, are less prone to adhesions, and have relatively less impact on the body. In daily life, one should keep regular medical checkups and pay attention to one’s health, and if abnormalities occur, one should actively treat them to avoid adverse consequences.
