Patients with cirrhosis can eat lean beef, lamb is recommended to eat less or not, patients with cirrhosis mostly have low proteinemia, meat can provide rich protein, meat also contains iron, zinc, copper and other trace elements, more suitable for patients with cirrhosis to eat. Patients with cirrhosis should eat meat with low fat content such as lean beef, lean pork and skinless chicken, and lamb is not recommended because of its high fat content. Meat should be cooked in a more digestible way, such as minced meat, meat pies and meatballs, and can be eaten 2-3 times a day, and each time should be no more than 50g. When patients have elevated blood ammonia or aura of hepatic encephalopathy, meat consumption should be suspended and then gradually added from a small amount when the symptoms disappear.
