How long to take targeted drugs for breast cancer

The most commonly used targeted drugs in clinical practice are called trastuzumab and pertuzumab, with the trade names Herceptin and Paget, which are administered by intravenous injection, unlike other targeted drugs for tumors that are taken orally, with a treatment cycle of about one year. There are also other targeted drugs such as pyrrolizidine, which are taken orally. There is a specific type of breast cancer called HER-2 positive, which refers to overexpression of the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 gene, and HER-2 overexpression is an important indicator of poor prognosis of breast cancer. From trastuzumab 20 years ago, to pertuzumab now, to small molecule tyrosine kinase inhibitors in recent years, drugs targeting HER-2 targets have been introduced one after another. Therefore, the treatment of HER-2-positive breast cancer has also undergone a radical change, and the prognosis of these patients has been greatly improved, both for early-stage breast cancer and advanced HER-2-positive breast cancer.
