Diarrhoea is a condition in which the stools are thinner and more frequent than normal. Normal baby stools are often yellow and pasty. If they contain significantly more water and are more frequent than usual, it is likely that the baby has diarrhoea. If your baby has diarrhoea, no other symptoms and is in good spirits, you can temporarily take oral rehydration salts on your own for observation. When it is accompanied by vomiting or poor spirits, a prompt visit to the paediatrician is recommended.
