There are many types of tumors that occur in the tailbone, and generally speaking, benign and malignant tumors of the tailbone are basically similar.
Tailbone tumors mainly come from primary tumors of the tailbone and other malignant tumors with bone metastases.
The benign tumors of caudal vertebral bone tumors are mainly osteoid osteoma, osteoblastoma, fibrous heteroplasia, aneurysmal bone cyst, simple bone cyst, eosinophilic granuloma, giant cell tumor of bone and so on.
Malignant tumors generally include osteosarcoma and chondrosarcoma.
Other malignant tumors bone metastasis, such as lung cancer bone metastasis, breast cancer bone metastasis, bone metastasis of intestinal tumors.
Tailbone tumors have a relatively low incidence and are clinically uncommon. Early stage can be asymptomatic, or there can be pain in the sacrococcygeal area, crushing discomfort, and the tumor can invade the sacrococcygeal nerve, causing peripheral radiating pain. Malignant tumors often present with emaciation, anemia, and hypercalcemia. Cancer cells can spread to the lungs and liver, and coughing, swelling and discomfort in the liver area can occur.
The diagnosis of bone tumor needs to be confirmed by relevant pathological examination, and patients are advised to seek medical treatment in time to avoid delaying the condition.
