What are the causes of high blood pressure in middle-aged people

Middle-aged patients with age and poor lifestyle habits can lead to elevated blood pressure, mainly related to the patient’s metabolic abnormalities, due to poor lifestyle habits, such as smoking, excessive mental stress, long-term poor diet such as large fish and meat, and lack of exercise, leading to obesity and thus metabolic syndrome, such as insulin resistance, etc. Psychiatric factors can also lead to elevated blood pressure. Many patients may be able to gradually reduce their blood pressure to normal through a regular diet, through exercise and by improving their poor lifestyle, such as quitting smoking, limiting alcohol consumption and losing weight, but some patients may need oral medication to reduce their blood pressure below 140/90 mmHg.
