Symptoms of diabetic gastroparesis

Diabetic gastroparesis is a type of diabetic neuropathy, also known as diabetic autonomic neuropathy, where prolonged high blood glucose that is not controlled may cause a variety of diseases, such as diabetic nephropathy, cardiovascular disease, neuropathy, and even fundopathy, among others. Among them is diabetic autonomic neuropathy, with clinical symptoms including abdominal distention, early satiety, anorexia, belching, nausea and vomiting, which worsen after eating, weight loss and so on.

There are various ways to diagnose diabetic gastroparesis: observation of clinical features; residual food remaining in the gastric juice in the early morning after a period of fasting (at least 12 hours). Other ancillary tests, such as barium gastric meal, gastric electromyography, gastric ultrasound, gastroscopy to rule out obstruction, etc.
