Early stage bowel cancer can be cured by surgery, especially colon cancer. After colon cancer surgery, patients’ 5-year survival rate is over 90%, and 10-year, 20-year, or even long-term survival is completely possible. If it is early stage rectal cancer, the anus can be preserved when radical resection is performed through surgery, which has very little impact on the quality of life. In case of advanced rectal cancer, the 5-year survival rate of patients is about 20-30%. Therefore, the survival time of bowel cancer patients has a certain relationship with the stage, and early stage bowel cancer patients should undergo surgery as much as possible. Patients with advanced bowel cancer should find a way to undergo conversion therapy. After converting inoperable bowel cancer into resectable bowel cancer, the 5-year survival rate of patients will also be improved, and there is evidence of evidence-based medicine in clinical practice to prove this.
