How long is the course of treatment for acne?

Acne is a chronic disease that should be treated in a standardized and individualized manner to ensure that patients receive the best results in a timely manner and to prevent aggravation and scar formation. The course of treatment generally takes 3-9 months; and the effect is slow, in most cases, visible results can be seen only after 1-2 months of treatment; moreover, up to 6-12 months of maintenance treatment (i.e., topical ointment applied once a week as prescribed by the doctor) is required after cure. Follow-up: Follow the doctor’s instructions and have regular follow-ups, usually once a month. It is wrong and regrettable to interrupt the medication due to laziness or too busy at work, to stop the medication prematurely due to lack of persistence, or to give up the treatment because the effect is not seen in the early stage. This will not only lead to ineffective treatment, but also increase drug resistance and make future treatment more difficult.
