How can otitis media be cured?

Otitis media is clinically categorized into acute otitis media, chronic suppurative otitis media and secretory otitis media, and the main treatment includes medication and surgery. 1. For the treatment of acute otitis media, if it is non-purulent otitis media, oral antipyretic and analgesic (e.g. acetaminophen) or local ear drops can be taken, and antibiotics (e.g. ofloxacin) are used as appropriate; if it is purulent otitis media, antibiotic treatment is preferred, and before perforation of tympanic membrane, local ear drops (e.g. of phenol glycerin) can be used, and if the conservative treatment is ineffective, then surgical treatment is necessary; after the tympanic membrane has been perforated, the ear has to be washed by hydrogen peroxide solution and antibiotics should be applied. Apply antibiotics. 2. Chronic suppurative otitis media, the cause should be removed first, and antibiotics should be used for systemic treatment plus topical ear drops during the acute exacerbation period, and surgical treatment can be chosen to repair the eardrum after controlling the condition. 3. Secretory otitis media, should be removed as soon as possible, early systemic antibiotics (such as erythromycin) treatment, oral glucocorticoids (such as prednisone acetate) to reduce secretions. The treatment of otitis media varies according to the patient’s condition, and it is not recommended that patients buy their own medications to take, and should be purchased and taken under the guidance of a professional doctor in order to avoid serious toxic side effects.
