Can I wear contact lenses for amblyopia?

Amblyopia can be treated with contact lenses, but the purpose of contact lenses is only to improve the appearance, not any treatment. This is mainly related to the mechanism of amblyopia formation. Amblyopia is a loss of best-corrected visual acuity in one or both eyes due to abnormal visual experiences during the development of vision. Common causes include monocular strabismus, large refractive errors, refractive aberrations or congenital cataracts, congenital corneal clouding, etc. Therefore, it is not possible to improve vision by wearing glasses. For the treatment of amblyopia, early detection and treatment is recommended, and the younger the age, the greater the chance of recovery. If amblyopia is found in adults, there is no treatment for it and there is no treatment for it. For amblyopia treatment mainly includes two methods: 1. masking treatment; 2. masking training. So the presence of amblyopia in the eye must be detected early and treated early.
