Etiology of atrophic depression of scars

Scar atrophy depressions are scars named after the features of the dysfunction they cause. Common clinical deformities caused by scar contracture include lid ectropion, lip ectropion, chin-thorax adhesion, scar contracture deformity of the hand and flexion or extension contracture deformity of each joint. Among them, if the skin and subcutaneous tissues on both sides of the contracted scars can gradually elongate after a long period of time and become web-like scar contractures, which is called web-like contracted scars. These webbed scars are commonly found on the anterior side of the neck, axilla, elbow fossa, ankle joint, etc. For smaller scars, they can be found on the inner canthus, outer canthus, nasolabial folds, corners of the mouth, finger webs, etc. Some of them appear in a circular pattern at the opening of body orifices, causing their caliber to narrow and affecting normal function. The causes of scar atrophy depression are numerous and are roughly divided into the following categories: 1. Trauma: In the process of wound healing, inflammatory reaction occurs first, and then myofibroblasts appear in the wound and divide and proliferate to synthesize collagen fibers, causing collagen deposition to form scars. 2.Infection: If infection occurs on the trauma surface, on the one hand, it will destroy the remaining epithelial cells, making the trauma surface deepen and healing time prolong; on the other hand, inflammatory factors stimulate fibroblast proliferation, and repeated infection will cause granulation tissue hyperplasia. Inflammatory cell infiltration makes the characteristics of granulation tissue, infection makes inflammatory cells increase, the more fibroblasts, the more likely scar proliferation will occur. 3, local skin tension change: the direction of the scar is not consistent with the skin tension, resulting in chronic pulling, which is a factor of scar proliferation. 4.Age: Adolescents are in the period of youth development, with vigorous tissue growth, strong immune reaction of the body after trauma, and high skin tension, which makes it easy for scar hyperplasia to occur. 5.Pigmentation: People of color have more skin pigment cells, which are prone to scarring. The incidence of black scars is about twice that of white people, and the incidence of burn scars in China is also quite high. 6.Surgery: If people with scars take surgical excision treatment, it will stimulate the fibroblasts, which will cause the scars to proliferate repeatedly, so if you are a scar body, surgical excision treatment should be strictly prohibited. 7.Other: Foreign body stimulation can also cause scar proliferation, common foreign bodies include dust, talcum powder, cotton fiber, thread knots, etc.
