The parammary gland is a reversion that occurs during late embryonic development when the mammary gland primordium is not fully degenerated. The paramammary gland is not very different from normal in terms of the occurrence of breast disease. It can be distended and painful during menstruation, and can produce milk during lactation (if there is a nipple). Indications for surgery of the parammary glands: 1) when there is a lump in the parammary gland; 2) when the pain of the parammary gland affects normal life; 3) when the size of the parammary gland is large and affects physical activity or local aesthetics, especially when wearing a sleeveless top or dress in summer. Anesthesia: It can be performed under local anesthesia or basic anesthesia, and we often choose the latter. Surgical methods: 1. Conventional method: A local shuttle incision is used to separate along the superficial fascia and remove the parametrial gland completely. We do not use the method of removing only the gland, because on the one hand, there is a greater possibility of local residual glands, and on the other hand, there is still more local fat tissue after surgery, which is not conducive to local cosmetic effects. 2.Minimally invasive surgery: using local incision in line with the skin pattern, separating along the superficial fascia and complete removal of the parametrial glands. Due to its smaller operation gap, the operation time is prolonged compared with conventional surgery, and the treatment effect is the same.
