Why do I need MRV for paraganglioma of the sagittal sinus?

One purpose of MRV (magnetic resonance venography) for paraganglioma is to see how much the sagittal sinus is blocked by the tumor, and to preserve the sagittal sinus if it is not completely blocked; the second purpose is to see the location of the large vein draining into the sagittal sinus, and to try to preserve the large vein during surgery to avoid severe cerebral edema and hemiparesis.
