If free cancer cells are found in the abdominal cavity, then there is a high chance of developing abdominal metastasis, and they can be considered advanced, with abdominal metastasis. Their treatment outcome is much worse than that of patients without free cancer cells in the abdominal cavity. However, the early detection of free cancer cells in the abdominal cavity is still being researched and standardized, and the value of early peritoneal perfusion chemotherapy is less certain.
