For novel coronavirus pneumonia and common pneumonia, the diagnosis can be clarified by epidemiological history, clinical manifestations and ancillary examinations. Patients with novel coronavirus pneumonia have fever, malaise, and dry cough as the main manifestations, and a few patients have nasal congestion, runny nose, sore throat, and diarrhea. Novel coronavirus nucleic acid can be detected in specimens such as nasopharyngeal swabs, sputum, lower respiratory secretions, blood, and stool. Chest imaging shows early multiple small patchy shadows and interstitial changes, which are evident in the extra-pulmonary bands. In contrast, common pneumonia is a common disease of the lungs, a group of diseases with fever, cough, sputum and wheezing as the main clinical manifestations due to inflammation of the lungs from various causes.
