Does the new coronavirus cause headaches?

While typical novel coronavirus pneumonia is still characterized by fever, malaise and dry cough, recently there have been many “atypical” cases in which patients present without obvious fever, cough and related respiratory symptoms, but only after contact with patients with suspected or confirmed novel coronavirus pneumonia. After contact with a patient with suspected or confirmed novel coronavirus pneumonia, the patient presents with neurological symptoms, such as headache, as the first symptoms. These patients with non-respiratory symptoms as the first manifestation tend to visit related departments, such as gastroenterology, neurology, and cardiovascular medicine, etc. The lack of obvious specific clinical manifestations in these patients increases the difficulty of diagnosis, which easily leads to missed diagnosis and misdiagnosis, and increases the chance of transmission.
