Urticaria in children can be prevented and treated by removing the causes, topical medications and oral medications.
1. Remove the causes: there are many possible causes of urticaria in children, such as food, drug allergies; if suffering from infectious diseases, immune system diseases may also cause urticaria; in addition to heat and cold, sunlight, friction and other physical stimuli are also possible triggers.
Children should be taken to the hospital to find out the cause of urticaria disease. In life, contact with obvious or highly suspected causative factors should be avoided as much as possible, otherwise it will lead to recurring urticaria in children’s growth process. For example, urticaria patients who are allergic to mango should avoid eating mango in the future.
2. Topical medication: When children’s urticaria flares up, if it does not go away on its own, it can be treated with glycerine lotion, hydrocortisone acetate ointment, and tretinoin ointment to relieve itching and swelling.
3. Oral medication: Children with severe urticaria, accompanied by shortness of breath and other allergic symptoms, can be combined with oral cetirizine drops, loratadine syrup and other antihistamines for treatment.
If children suffer from urticaria, it is recommended that patients go to a regular hospital for diagnosis and treatment, and pay attention to the use of drugs under the guidance of the doctor, so as not to delay the condition.
