Usually there is no self-healing method for vasculitis. Patients can be treated by applying medication and surgery to alleviate the symptoms by improving their lifestyle.
1. Medication: vasculitis is a chronic and progressive disease, which may damage the organs if left untreated. Medications such as methotrexate and colchicine can be applied under doctor’s guidance, and immunoglobulin can also be used in serious cases.
2. Surgery: When patients have stenosis or occlusion of blood vessels, they can be treated with surgery, such as bypass surgery, percutaneous transluminal angioplasty, etc., in order to rebuild blood flow and maintain organ function.
3. Improve life style: patients should develop regular habits of work and rest; rest in bed when discomfort occurs, and exercise appropriately after the symptoms are relieved; pay attention to warmth, avoid getting cold, and pay attention to personal hygiene. In addition, in daily life should choose light and easy to digest food, avoid eating spicy and greasy food, and quit smoking and alcohol.
Patients with vasculitis are advised to go to the rheumatology and immunology departments of regular hospitals for consultation and treatment as prescribed by the doctor, and do not use medication on their own.
