How long does it take to get blood test results

The time to get the results of blood tests varies depending on the test items, such as 10-15 minutes for acute blood tests, and 2-3 days for blood culture tests. How long does it take to get the results of a hospital blood test is closely related to the blood test items. For routine blood tests, results can be obtained in about 30 minutes. For routine biochemical tests, including liver function, kidney function, blood lipids, etc., it usually takes 2-3 hours. In addition, blood tests are divided into emergency blood tests and routine blood tests. The results of emergency tests are available earlier, such as emergency blood biochemistry tests, which usually take about 30 minutes to produce results; while various antibody serology tests, such as hepatitis B five items, hepatitis C antibodies, AIDS antibodies, etc., often take 4-5 hours to produce results; for suspected infected patients, blood culture tests may take about 2-3 days to produce results. In addition, it should be noted that some blood tests may require fasting, so if the patient is not sure about the test, it is recommended to keep an empty stomach in the morning.
