What kind of deafness is suitable for a cochlear implant?

Severe or profound sensorineural deafness with poor hearing and speech rehabilitation by using hearing aids, including all kinds of congenital deafness, drug-induced toxic deafness, deafness caused by viral infections, sudden deafness, noise deafness, and senile deafness are suitable for cochlear implantation treatment. Currently, the national consensus on the indications for cochlear implantation is as follows: bilateral severe or profound sensorineural deafness; no obvious contraindications; the implantee has the desire to recover and the ability to support the recovery; and there is a realistic expectation for cochlear implantation.
