The patient has a cough and nasal congestion to find out whether the patient’s causative agent is bacterial or viral. First, complete blood work to find out if the blood picture is elevated. Next, administer allopathic treatment with antibiotics or antiviral drugs, such as Lotus Clear Cold and Flu capsules or amoxicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics. With aggressive allopathic treatment, the patient’s symptoms will improve. Secondly, symptomatic medications can be used, such as compound aminoglutethimide tablets, which have an astringent effect and can relieve the symptoms of nasal congestion. If the patient’s symptoms are still obvious, symptomatic treatment with hormonal sprays is available. Drugs such as budesonide and fluticasone, for example, will improve the patient’s symptoms after active treatment.
