Secretory otitis media in children is one of the most common diseases in the field of pediatric otolaryngology. Due to the characteristics of growth and development of infants and children, the occurrence and regression of secretory otitis media is different from that of adults and has its own unique features and clinical characteristics. During the growth and development of children, hearing will affect their cognitive ability and comprehensive development of intelligence. Therefore, early diagnosis and reasonable treatment are necessary and urgent. As parents, they should pay attention to children’s daily behavior and strive for early detection, diagnosis and treatment. Although there are no accurate statistics in China, the incidence of secretory otitis media in children is quite high. International evidence-based medical research confirms that it can be as high as 96%, and the recurrence rate is high. However, parents need not worry too much because, with reasonable treatment, the vast majority of them can be completely restored to normal. Usually, after the diagnosis in the hospital, more need to carry out the corresponding treatment. 1.Conservative treatment: close observation is needed within 3 months of onset. It is recommended to follow up once in 2-4 weeks and treat symptomatically as appropriate. 2.Rational antibiotic treatment. 3.For children with combined rhinitis and nasal obstruction, nasal drops can be used to clear the nasal cavity and use the function of the eustachian tube to recover. 4.For children with snoring, adenoids and tonsils should be considered. 5, conservative treatment for 3 months without improvement, the use of tympanotomy tube placement. In case of nasopharyngeal obstruction or chronic adenoiditis, adenoidectomy is performed. 6.Re-operation: If the tympanic membrane tube is dislodged or recurred after removal of the tube, re-operation can be performed. When the tube is placed again, adenoidectomy is performed in parallel (except for cleft palate or submucous cleft palate). 7. During the treatment period, it is especially important to reduce or avoid the occurrence of colds.
