Hypospadias is a common congenital abnormality of external genital development in children, which is characterized by three main physical abnormalities: abnormal position of the urethral orifice, inferior penile curvature and abnormal distribution of the foreskin. Most hypospadias require surgery to correct the deformity in order to restore the downward curvature of the penis, the opening of the urethral orifice in the proper position and the normal appearance of the penis. Normal male sexual function is characterized by normal sexual arousal and normal penile erection and ejaculation, which is physiologically based on normal androgen levels and normal function of the vascular and neural reflexes of the penile corpus cavernosum. In this regard, hypospadias is a developmental malformation of the urethral corpus cavernosum that does not affect normal penile erection and ejaculatory function, but because hypospadias may be combined with severe hypospadias and abnormal urethral opening (at the root of the penis), this can affect the sexual life, and successful hypospadias surgery corrects the hypospadias and abnormal urethral opening, so it will not affect the future sexual life.
