Hypospadias is a common congenital developmental malformation of the external genitalia in children, which is characterized by three main physical abnormalities: abnormal position of the urethral orifice, inferior curvature of the penis and abnormal distribution of the foreskin. Most hypospadias require surgery to correct the deformity in order to restore the penile recurvature, the opening of the urethra in the right position and the normal appearance of the penis. The basis of male reproductive function is normal testicular spermatogenesis and unobstructed sperm transmission channels. Therefore, theoretically, the spermatogenesis of children with hypospadias is normal and the sperm transmission channels are also unobstructed, but severe hypospadias has a lower opening, even to the root of the penis or perineum, which will affect the discharge of semen into the vagina, thus affecting fertility. And successful surgery restores the proper position of the external urethral opening. It will not affect the discharge of semen into the vagina, and thus will not affect fertility. So after hypospadias surgery, it will not affect fertility. Provided of course that the sperm production function of the testicles is normal.
