What happens when I get pregnant with essential hypertension?

Patient: The patient is female, 35 years old, usually in good health. This time the condition: third trimester, essential hypertension, lower pressure 110-130, usually about 120, upper pressure 160-180, usually more than 160. The local hospital prescribed medication: benzedipine controlled-release tablets (Bexinto). After two doses, both vomited and became dizzy. The decrease in blood pressure is not obvious. Can I see you for a consultation? Can you give some advice? In order to adapt to the needs of the developing fetus, a series of adaptive changes occur in the body systems of women during pregnancy, which make women less resistant during pregnancy and prone to many complications. The fetus inside the pregnant woman is in different stages of development process and the function of each organ is not perfect. If drugs are not used properly, they can have effects on the fetus such as lethal, teratogenic and stunting. The effect of drugs on the fetus is closely related to the gestational age. 2 weeks after fertilization (before and after implantation) the effect of drugs on the embryo is all or nothing, which means that if the embryo is affected by drugs at this time, it can die and lead to miscarriage, and if the embryo continues to develop, it proves that drugs have no adverse effect on the embryo. 3-8 weeks after fertilization is the stage of embryonic organ differentiation and development, cell directed development, placental circulation has been formed, drugs can enter the fetal body, by the action of harmful drugs, highly susceptible to morphological abnormalities, known as teratogenic highly susceptible period. 9-40 weeks is the stage of fetal growth, development, perfect organ function, only the nervous system, reproductive system, teeth are still continuing to differentiate, especially The peak period of differentiation and development of the nervous system, harmful drugs are likely to delay intrauterine development of the fetus and damage the nervous system. In addition to gestational age, the effect of drugs on the fetus is related to the nature, dose and duration of treatment. Almost all drugs can enter the fetus through the placenta, but the degree and speed are different. Therefore, women of childbearing age should pay attention to their last menstrual period, always tell the doctor about their last menstrual period no matter which department they visit in the hospital, and should treat chronic diseases before pregnancy. In case of illness during pregnancy, it is important to go to a regular general or specialized hospital and use the correct medication under the guidance of the doctor. According to the individual’s current condition, blood pressure should be lowered strictly according to the cardiovascular doctor’s requirements. If the blood pressure does not drop significantly, not only should the antihypertensive medication be adjusted or increased in a timely manner, but also termination of pregnancy must be recommended and pregnancy should be carried out after the blood pressure is well controlled, otherwise it may be life-threatening.
