Chinese medicine has a long history in the treatment of tumors. As early as in the oracle bone inscriptions of the Yin Market, the word “tumor” was recorded. The medical doctors of all generations have studied it, and they believe that the etiology of tumor is mainly due to “the knotting, the return of Qi, the retention of fluid, the presence of evil Qi, the agglomeration getting worse day by day, and even the gathering”. However, the application of “eighteen anti” and “nineteen fears” in the treatment of tumor disease is rare, how to view the “eighteen anti” and “nineteen fears” of Chinese medicine in the treatment of tumor disease is a problem that needs to be studied. It is a question that needs to be studied. We adopt the experience of our predecessors in treating tumors and combine our own clinical experience of using “18 anti” and “19 fears” in treating tumors, which can indeed achieve twice the effect with half the effort. It is a pity that the original book was lost long ago, and the current version is collected from the herbal books of the past generations, which cannot be further verified. In the Five Dynasties, Han Baosheng’s “Shu Ben Cao” pointed out that “the opposite of eighteen kinds”, which is the blueprint of “eighteen anti”. For example, my grandmother was suffering from lymphatic tuberculosis in the neck, and my grandfather added seaweed and licorice on the basis of evidence, and received miraculous results. There is a significant difference between the group with seaweed and licorice and the group without seaweed and licorice; furthermore, the scientific research project of our gynecology department has added seaweed and licorice in the treatment of gynecological tumor and ovarian cyst disease, which has been made into Chinese medicine with satisfactory clinical effect. (2) The “eighteen anti” and “nineteen fears” are debatable in themselves. For example, ginseng, bitter ginseng, salvia, sage, xuan ginseng and other ginseng against quinoa, all ginseng is known to have different functional flavors, different aetiology, different properties, and different modern pharmacological research, so how can they all be against quinoa once the name of “ginseng” is attached? Also, seaweed and kombucha are the same in nature, often both used together, why is licorice only anti seaweed not anti kombucha? The word “avoid” in this sentence means that they cannot be used together, and the word “fear” in the sentence “wolfsbane is most afraid of mithridates” means that they are afraid of each other. The word “fear” in the sentence “Wolf Poison is most afraid of Midas” has the relationship of mutual fear, this song is a poem in seven lines, with strict rhyme, but it is not expected that some of the drugs suffer from the prohibition, such as “Ginseng is also contraindicated to five spirit fat”, but in recent times, some people use five spirit fat with ginseng, but it can replenish qi, move qi and activate blood. In treatment, it can be used to warm yang and fix astringency when deficiency cold diarrhea occurs due to tumor disease. (3) Why are the “18 opposite” opposite? What is the reason for its opposite? There is no one saying in ancient and modern times. It can only be said that it is the practical experience of the ancients, and it is likely that the ancients took chance for necessity in their practice. To say practical experience, then the aforementioned from the Han Dynasty Zhang Zhongjing, Tang Dynasty Sun Simiao, Song Dynasty Chen Wuze, Xu Shu Wei, Jin Yuan Li Dongyuan, Zhu Danxi, Ming Dynasty Chen Shigong, Qing Dynasty Yu listen to Hong and other records of how there is not practical experience? Therefore, the ancient saying of “eighteen anti” is probably an erroneous judgment made under such circumstances. (5) If we stick to the “eighteen anti” and “nineteen fears”, on the one hand, many famous prescriptions of the ancients, including Zhang Zhongjing’s, will not be applied, and many good experiences of the ancients will be discarded; on the other hand, it is likely that there are really opposite medicines in the Chinese medicine combination, i.e. Absolutely not to be used in conjunction with, misuse after the loss of curative effect, or poisoning, or death. “On the other hand, it is very likely that there are really opposite medicines in the combination, i.e., they should never be used together and lose their efficacy, or get poisoned, or die after misuse. It is the first and foremost problem of every TCM oncologist to serve tumor patients. The functions of the 18 antibiotics are summarized by the author in the study of ancient and modern medicine and my clinical experience, for colleagues’ reference. Aconite and Bupleurum are used together: warming the meridians, dispersing cold, activating blood circulation, stopping bleeding and relieving pain. Wu Tau and Radix et Rhizoma Pinelliae are used together: stabilizing the meridians and clearing the channels, drying dampness and resolving phlegm, lowering rebelliousness, stopping vomiting, and softening nodules. Glycyrrhiza glabra and seaweed used together: Eliminating phlegm and softening hardness, clearing heat and dampness, clearing the throat, relieving cough and asthma. Glycyrrhiza glabra and Coriander used together: dispel phlegm and remove drink, relieve cough and asthma, open the chest and smooth the air, enhance the peristaltic movement of the stomach and intestines. Glycyrrhiza glabra used with Euphorbia grandiflora: relieving Qi and depression, dispelling water and expelling drinks, relieving cough and asthma, bitterness does not harm the stomach. Glycyrrhiza glabra and Gansui used together: laxative, diaphoretic, dispelling phlegm and expelling beverages.
