The principle of treatment for pneumoconiosis is to enhance comprehensive health management and actively pursue comprehensive clinical treatment, including symptomatic treatment, treatment of complications/comorbidities and rehabilitation, with the aim of reducing patients’ suffering, delaying the progression of the disease, improving quality of life and social participation, increasing survival benefits and prolonging patients’ life expectancy.
Specific treatment measures include: oxygen therapy for those who are hypoxic; symptomatic treatment, including the application of asthma, sputum and cough suppression; treatment of complications and comorbidities; rehabilitation; and lung transplantation for end-stage patients.
