Training methods for rehabilitation after foot fracture

After a foot fracture, the fracture area is usually not suitable for activity for about four weeks in the early stage because the fracture has not yet grown stable, and only after the fracture has reached clinical healing can you do foot activities, functional exercises or functional training for toe activities, but during the fixation period, the joints of the lower limbs, including the hip, knee and ankle, must be moved more often to prevent muscle hardening. In addition, the muscles of the thighs and calves must also be contracted regularly. Exercise method: If you exercise the thigh muscles, usually lying on the bed, with a straight leg elevation method. Generally lie in bed after straight knee, forcefully raise the knee joint to the bed about 45 degrees angle fixed, and then slowly put down the muscles of the thighs after a sense of soreness or weakness, rest after doing a second time, can effectively exercise the muscles of the thighs. The method is to hold the ankle joint in dorsal extension for five seconds, then in plantar flexion for another five seconds, alternately contracting the anterolateral and posterolateral muscles of the calf, thus effectively promoting blood circulation in the calf and lower extremity and speeding up the reduction of local swelling and pain relief. After removal of the external fixation or clinical healing of the fracture, you can do movement training of the joints of the toes and functional exercise of walking on the ground.
