Early stage colon cancer does not need chemotherapy. Early stage colon cancer means colon tumor is found very early and in time, and can be cured by surgery, usually the tumor invades the mucosal layer or submucosal layer and does not invade the muscle layer, and there are no positive lymph nodes around the tumor, that is, there are no lymph nodes with metastasis, so after surgery, chemotherapy is not needed, and close follow-up can be done. The follow-up period is the same as that of normal colon tumor, which is every 3 months for the first 2 years and every 6 months for the last 3 years, and the colonoscopy should be reviewed every year. The purpose is to prevent tumor recurrence or metastasis, and if there is any sign of recurrence or metastasis, it is necessary to consider intervention again.
