What are the first symptoms of AIDS?

The first symptoms of AIDS are similar to the symptoms of an upper respiratory infection. AIDS, also known as acquired immunodeficiency syndrome, is a systemic disease caused by the human immunodeficiency virus, also known as AIDS. The first symptoms of AIDS in some patients are fever, fatigue, sore throat and general malaise (similar to the symptoms of upper respiratory tract infection), 20% to 25% of patients may have a rash such as maculopapular rash, roseola or urticaria, a few patients may have lymph node enlargement and neurological symptoms. The disease may resolve on its own after 1~3 weeks. In this period, HIV RNA and P24 antigen can be detected in the blood, while HIV antibody appears only a few weeks after infection. CD4T lymphocyte counts are transiently reduced, and the CD4/CD8* ratio may be inverted. The presence of AIDS should be taken seriously and treated promptly in a hospital.
