Intramedullary tumors of the spinal cord account for about 20% of intradural tumors and are one of the common tumors of the central nervous system. Of these, ventricular meningioma and astrocytoma each account for about 40%, hemangioblastoma for about 10%, and nerve sheath tumors, lipomas, cavernous hemangiomas, epidermoid cysts, cortical cysts, and other tumors also account for about 10%. Surgery for intramedullary tumors of the spinal cord, which was very difficult 30 years ago, can only do a simple resection or decompression, but today this technical problem has been solved, the tumors in the spinal cord can be operated, and the results are satisfactory, some patients have paralysis before surgery, and even breathing difficulties, after surgery, paralysis completely restored, before surgery bedridden, after surgery, completely healthy, normal work, so we encounter intramedullary tumors of the spinal cord. Therefore, we should not give up treatment when we encounter intramedullary spinal cord tumors.
