The distal femur is a favored site for primary bone tumors and one of the favored sites for metastatic bone tumors. As the treatment effect of bone tumors improves, especially the life expectancy of patients with malignant tumors increases, the preservation of knee function is very important to improve the quality of life of patients, therefore, it must be considered in the treatment of distal femoral tumors. In our hospital, 1503 cases of various bone tumors were admitted from May 1980 to April 2008, and 18% of 265 cases of distal femoral tumors were treated. Limb preservation methods: tumor scraping treatment methods include amputation cases, limb preservation, limb preservation methods include tumor resection, ipsilateral fibula implant fusion, homogeneous allogeneic distal femur replacement, autologous inactivation reimplantation, artificial prosthesis replacement, which is hinged joint, posterior stability limiting type.
