Subcutaneous lipomas do not go away on their own and require surgery to remove.
Subcutaneous lipoma is a benign tumor of subcutaneous soft tissue, which commonly manifests as one or more lumps under the skin. Subcutaneous lipoma will not disappear on its own. Small lipomas do not have obvious clinical symptoms and do not require treatment, but can be followed up regularly for observation. If the lipoma is large, it will compress the nerves or the surrounding tissues and organs causing pain and related dysfunction, and needs to be surgically removed.
After surgical resection of subcutaneous lipoma, some of them may recur again, so timely consultation is needed.
