A 16-year-old Shandong student, Sun, presented with cervical discomfort and numbness in the right upper limb in 2011, and MRI in 2013 showed: spinal cord cavernosity and a malformation of the cerebellar subungual herniation. He underwent end-filament release in April in the department, and his symptoms gradually improved after the operation, and a year after the operation, a repeat MRI showed that the cavern was significantly smaller, and the child was learning and living the same life as his classmates. Patients with subungual hernia do not necessarily need to undergo posterior cranial fossa surgery, and spinal cord tethering release can make a difference in four ways.
