Hysteroscopy is a diagnostic operation commonly used in gynecological clinics in recent years. It uses the observation of the hysteroscope in the uterine cavity and cervical canal to clarify the nature and location of lesions, as well as the size, appearance, and extent of lesions more clearly than ultrasound examination or blind scraping. During the hysteroscopy operation, the patient can feel pain due to the stretching and dilatation of the cervix, the use of dilating media to expand the uterus and surgical stimulation, which can reflexively cause vagal nerve excitation and a reaction similar to the abortion syndrome, and some patients can have their surgical operation interrupted due to unbearable pain. Painless hysteroscopy refers to the administration of a certain amount of analgesic and sedative to enable patients to perform hysteroscopy and surgery in a pain-free condition. The use of anesthesia during hysteroscopy allows patients to feel no pain during the operation and effectively avoids the occurrence of surgical complications due to patient tension, struggle and agitation. Precautions for general anesthesia are as follows: I. Pre-operative precautions: 1. Fasting for 8 hours (4-8 hours for infants and children depending on the situation): no food, drink, water or betel nut chewing (but you can brush your teeth) to avoid fatal aspiration pneumonia due to lack of gastric emptying. 2.If you have high blood pressure, heart disease, epilepsy and other chronic diseases, please take a small amount of plain water (≤30ml) in the morning before 6 o’clock on the day of surgery, and do not take hypoglycemic drugs. 3. Please do not wear make-up, keep your nails neatly trimmed and do not apply nail polish, as this may affect your normal skin tone and be detrimental to the doctor’s observation. 4.Please take off hairpins, (contact) glasses, dentures, braces, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings and other superfluous objects. 5.Please wear loose, easy to take off and change clothes, do not wear tight clothes and shapewear. 6.At least one relative should accompany you on the day of surgery. Intraoperative precautions: 1.Intravenous injection of anesthetic drugs, please cooperate with the action of deep breathing, you will soon enter the sleep state. 2.After the surgery, the doctor will wake you up and ask you to open your eyes, take a deep breath or raise your hands, please cooperate. C. Postoperative precautions: 1. After surgery, please do deep breathing and coughing exercises and cough up the secretions in your mouth in time. 2.Fast for at least 2 hours after surgery, and eat according to medical advice in special cases. 3.After anesthesia, you should keep warm properly. 4.There may be dizziness, nausea, vomiting and other discomforts after general anesthesia, and the symptoms will gradually disappear as the anesthetic drug subsides. 5.Driving, working at height and major decision-making work are prohibited within 24 hours after general anesthesia.
