What is Nuchal’s cyst?

Cervical nuchal translucency is a common gynecologic condition known as cervical glandular retention cysts. The cause of cervical nuchal translucency is similar to that of acne on the face. When the cervix is immersed in irritating vaginal secretions for a long time, the cervical squamous epithelium is gradually shed and the cervical canal columnar epithelium is rapidly repaired, a condition known as cervical erosion. The reserve cells of the columnar epithelium change into squamous epithelium, which replaces the columnar epithelium to make the cervical erosion heal. During the healing process of the cervical erosion, the squamous epithelium covers the glandular duct opening of the columnar epithelium, so that the glandular secretions cannot flow outward and are trapped in the lumen of the glandular duct, forming small nodules of different sizes, which protrude from the surface of the cervix and are called nasal cysts. During gynecological examination, different degrees of hypertrophy of the official cervix and inflammation on the surface of the cervix with multiple small greenish-blood colored vesicles containing colorless pink vesicles are seen, and colorless pellicle-like material may flow out when the cyst is punctured. Multiple small vesicular dark areas were seen in the cervical region under ultrasound. In both longitudinal and transverse views, the cervix is enlarged and one or more echogenic areas of varying size, ranging from a few millimeters in diameter for small ones to several centimeters for large ones, are seen on the anterior or posterior lip of the cervix. Cervical glandular cysts, also called cervical nuchal cysts, are a common manifestation of chronic cervicitis.
