Unique needle “Xinwu point” for chronic rhinitis

Rhinitis is a global health problem, with a prevalence rate ranging from 10 to 40%, and a conservative estimate of more than 500 million rhinitis patients worldwide, rhinitis has become a high incidence species that cannot be ignored. Conventional acupuncture treatment also has some effect, but the allocation of points is complicated, the course of treatment is long, and it is not easy for patients to adhere to. The unique acupuncture “Xinwu point” for the treatment of chronic rhinitis was pioneered by Professor Li Xinwu, the former deputy director of the Institute of Otorhinolaryngology of Tongren Hospital, and was first applied to patients with chronic rhinitis in the 1960’s. It is very effective in improving various symptoms of rhinitis. The method consists of selecting a 60mm needle and stabbing the pterygopalatine ganglion located deep in the cheek, which is simple, effective, inexpensive and safe for the treatment of chronic rhinitis. It is easy: the treatment method is only one needle and one acupuncture point, after acupuncture in place to obtain the sense of needles, usually do not keep the needle, the whole treatment process only takes a few minutes; effective: many patients only needles once to feel the symptoms of nasal congestion and runny nose reduced. Some patients are treated for 5~8 times, and their symptoms are obviously relieved; cheap: the treatment process is simple, the course of treatment is short, and the single and overall charges are low; safe: although the anatomical location of the acupuncture site is complex, and the acupuncture is deep, as long as the operation is carried out in strict accordance with the operating procedures, no adverse reactions generally occur. In addition, this method has better long-term efficacy. According to the observation of Prof. Li Xinwu, the efficacy is more than two years: 90% for chronic rhinitis, 70.4% for allergic rhinitis, and 52.4% for chronic purulent sinusitis. In the past two years, we have treated more than 4,000 cases of various rhinitis patients with the method of acupuncture rhinitis by Director Li Xinwu, and the average efficiency reached more than 70%. Especially for allergic rhinitis, the long-term effect exceeds that of conventional acupuncture therapy.
