Intercourse should be avoided as much as possible to prevent repeated infections during the use of nifurtimox for intractable mycosis fungoides (correctly should be nifurtimox vaginal soft capsule). Nifurtimox Prophylacticin Vaginal Soft Capsules are mainly used for the treatment of Candida vulvovaginosis (i.e. mycosis fungoides), bacterial vaginosis, trichomoniasis, and mixed vaginal infections. The use of the drug should avoid the menstrual period; the use of the drug should be washed hands or wear gloves, finger cots; during the period also need to use condoms or avoid intercourse, in order to prevent repeated infections; during the use of the drug also need to avoid drinking alcoholic beverages. For persistent mycosis fungoides it is recommended to avoid intercourse during treatment. The drug should be contraindicated in people who are allergic to the product and in patients with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, and should be used with caution in breastfeeding women. Adverse reactions such as vulvovaginal dryness, swelling and pain, vulvar edema and vaginal bleeding may occur during treatment with the drug.
