Is allergic purpura serious?

Usually allergic purpura is not serious, but a small number of patients have more severe conditions. Henoch purpura is a self-limiting disease, most patients can be cured within 8 weeks, so it is usually not serious. However, for some patients with prolonged symptoms or complications of purpura nephritis, the condition is more serious, and patients need to pay attention to prevent accidents. If patients with purpura actively cooperate with doctors, the prognosis is usually good. In the acute stage of purpura, bed rest should be paid attention to, and the causative factors should be actively investigated. Painful symptoms can be relieved with acetaminophen, ibuprofen, and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs as prescribed by the doctor. Patients may also be treated with glucocorticoids such as prednisone and dexamethasone, immunosuppressants such as cyclophosphamide and cyclosporine, and antihistamines such as loratadine. It is recommended that people with purpura actively cooperate with the doctor’s treatment, not to use drugs or prescriptions, in order to prevent aggravation of the condition. Pay attention to daily skin care, avoid foreign body friction stimulation.
