Breast cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors among women. It accounts for 7%-10% of all malignant tumors in China and is on the rise year by year. Its main symptoms in late stage: (1) Main symptoms: Breast cancer in late stage can infiltrate the chest muscle and chest wall while being fixed, and the breast is also deformed by the infiltration and contraction of the lump. The tumor infiltrates the skin extensively and then fuses into a dark red color, diffusing into patches and even spreading to the skin of the back and the opposite side of the chest, forming an “armor-like” shape, which can cause breathing difficulties. The skin will break down and form ulcers, which often have bad odor and bleed easily, or grow outward to form cauliflower tumor. (2) Metastasis: ① Cancer cells can metastasize from the primary foci to the ipsilateral axillary lymph nodes along the lymphatic vessels, blocking the main lymphatic vessels and causing upper limb edema due to the obstruction of lymphatic flow in the upper arm. The swollen lymph nodes can press the axillary vein and cause cyanotic swelling of the upper limbs. (2) Invasion of the brachial plexus nerve or compression by enlarged lymph nodes may cause arm and shoulder pain. (3) Metastasis of supraclavicular lymph nodes may occur secondary to axillary lymph nodes or directly from the primary site. ④Once the supraclavicular lymph node metastases, the cancer cells may invade the vein through the thoracic duct or the right cervical lymph node and cause bloodway metastasis. ⑤ Cancer cells may also directly invade the vein to cause distant metastasis, commonly in bone, lung and liver. The most common sites of bone metastasis are spine, pelvis and femur, which can cause pain or walking disorder; lung metastasis can cause cough, hemoptysis and pleural effusion; liver metastasis can cause hepatomegaly and jaundice, etc. For locally advanced breast cancer, surgery can be performed after adjuvant treatment, while patients who are not suitable for surgery mainly focus on systemic treatment and symptomatic treatment with the main purpose of prolonging life and improving quality of life. Nowadays, there are more and more treatment methods for breast cancer, the most fundamental thing to improve the survival rate is early detection, early diagnosis and early treatment.
