Hemoptysis in combination with tuberculosis is a common symptom in patients with tuberculosis. The presence of hemoptysis does not mean that the disease is severe. Some patients with early-stage tuberculosis have the possibility of hemoptysis even though their disease is mild; on the contrary, some patients with severe disease do not have hemoptysis. This depends mainly on the destruction of blood vessels near the tuberculosis lesion, and hemoptysis can occur when the tuberculosis lesion invades and destroys large blood vessels. Tuberculosis patients with hemoptysis should follow the following points: 1. Maintain emotional stability and quiet environment when hemoptysis occurs. Some people are afraid of blood hemoptysis and desperately try to hold their breath, not daring to hemoptysis out, which is very likely to cause asphyxia. In hemoptysis, lie down, head to the side, keep quiet, so that the heartbeat slows down, blood pressure decreases, and it is easy to stop bleeding. When hemoptysis is present, blood should be boldly coughing out. Family members should also be calm, caring and comforting to the patient, not to show a panicked and scared expression in front of the patient. 2. Prevent violent coughing. When hemoptysis occurs, itching in the throat causes a coughing fit. The heavier the cough, the lower the intrathoracic pressure, the easier the blood vessels expand, which can cause more than hemoptysis or another hemoptysis. When coughing is more than enough, cough suppressants can be taken appropriately. 3. After hemoptysis occurs, the patient should be absolutely bedridden. In life to give care, can eat some warm and cool liquid food or semi-liquid food, summer can eat some cold drinks, to help stop bleeding. You can also have some soft food. When hemoptysis has just stopped, it is forbidden to get up and move around. Avoid smoking, alcohol, stimulating food and food that is too hot. Keep the bowels open, give laxatives or soap enemas if necessary to avoid constipation and excessive force, which can cause hemoptysis again. After hemoptysis stops (including blood in sputum), continue to be bedridden for 3-7 days before gradually getting up and moving around. 4. Patients with frequent hemoptysis should pay attention to their daily lives and avoid excessive fatigue and heavy physical labor. Keep some commonly used hemostatic drugs (such as Anloha, Hemostatin, etc.) at home for emergency use. After the hemoptysis stops, go to the hospital for examination, chest X-ray, sputum test, check the cause of hemoptysis and adjust the treatment plan. 5. Once hemoptysis occurs, go to a nearby medical unit for treatment as soon as possible.
