The advantages of classic dental implants: Since Professor Branemark of Sweden proposed the theory of osseointegration, dental implants have increasingly become the best means of restoring missing teeth and dentition. Compared with traditional dentures, dental implants have the following advantages: (1) Similar in appearance to natural teeth, very beautiful; similar in comfort to natural teeth, closely integrated with alveolar bone and gums, no need to remove; (2) Restoration of the bite function of natural teeth The bite force of general dentures is only 1/20 of natural teeth, while the bite force of dental implants is close to natural teeth and can chew harder foods. (3) Protection of neighboring teeth Porcelain bridge restoration requires grinding away the crowns of neighboring teeth, which damages neighboring teeth, while dental implants are only implanted in the missing tooth area, which will not damage neighboring teeth; (4) Getting rid of the inconvenience of movable dentures Implants can get rid of the inconvenience caused by movable dentures, such as gum pain, foreign body feeling, odor, and pronunciation; (5) Dental implants can better fix the full denture, making it more solid; (6) Maintaining healthy alveolar bone Long-term use Traditional dentures can cause the alveolar bone to shrink. Implants placed in the missing tooth area can increase the bone density of the alveolar bone and reduce bone resorption; (7) Compared to traditional dentures, dental implants make it easier for you to feel the taste and delicacy of food, thus enhancing your life. Disadvantages of classical dental implants: The classical dental implant restoration procedure is a more cumbersome procedure, which increases the toothless time of the patient. In addition, there is a progressive bone resorption process in the alveolar ridge after tooth extraction, and some scholars found that the alveolar bone resorption can reach 3 to 4 mm in the first 6 months after tooth extraction. The width of resorption can reach 60% and the height of resorption can reach 40%. The advantages of immediate implantation: In order to make oral implant restoration easier and faster, to minimize the time of patients without teeth, and to obtain the ideal gingival tissue shape to achieve the best aesthetic effect of implant restoration, and with the development of oral implant surgery, bone grafting materials, and bone guided regeneration technology (GBR), oral immediate implantation technology has become an important research and direction in recent years. Immediate implantation means that the implant is placed in the fresh extraction wound while the affected tooth is extracted to restore the missing tooth/tooth, which is a bold innovation based on the traditional postponed implantation. 1. Immediate implant technology significantly shortens the time of the patient without a denture and meets the aesthetic and functional needs of the patient as soon as possible; 2. It reduces the physiological resorption of the alveolar socket after extraction and minimizes the bone loss by preserving more dense bone tissue around the osseointegrated implant, avoiding extensive bone grafting; 3. Instant implantation is known as the development direction of oral implantation in the 21st century and the current research hot spot. At present, my colleagues and I have successfully performed immediate implantation and immediate restoration for a number of dental patients, and the results are ideal and the patients are very satisfied.
