When you can’t get a dental implant

There are certain indications and non-indications for dental implants, which should be based on the general condition. Dental implants can only be performed if you do not want to destroy both sides of the teeth for restoration and if there is sufficient thickness of attached gingiva in the implant area; dental implants cannot be performed if the oral disease is serious or in acute attack, serious mental illness, serious systemic diseases that cannot tolerate the surgery, and minors, etc. 1, oral disease is serious or in acute attack: osteomyelitis, acute periodontitis, acute pericoronitis, or Malignant oral tumor, poor oral hygiene, and periodontitis with very serious alveolar bone resorption are not recommended for dental implant operation. However, dental implants are possible after the acute inflammation is cured, and the poor oral hygiene is no longer affected by dental implants after periodontal treatment can be improved; 2. Severe mental diseases: patients with untreated and controlled mental diseases cannot cooperate with dental implant operations and postoperative care, and dental implants are generally not recommended; if patients with mental diseases are reasonably treated, stable and conscious, then dental implants can be considered; 3. Severe Systemic diseases: for example, people suffering from severe diabetes, hypertension and heart disease, dental implant operation is not recommended when the disease is not controlled, for example, diabetic patients are difficult to form osseointegration after implantation due to abnormal bone metabolism in most cases, which may lead to implant failure; 4. Minors: the jaw bone has not yet completed development, dental implants may affect growth and development, and dental implants are not recommended.
